The future of our hospice has never been so uncertain, thank you for thinking of us, we are thinking of you too. We are doing everything possible to continue to care and provide vital services to seriously ill children and families. Haven House is often described as a lifeline for the many children and families who rely on the specialist care we provide. Please donate today and help us be there for families in need.

Haven House is a lifeline for hundreds of children and families and they need us now more than ever. We still remain uncertain of what the future holds and are continuing to look to our local community for support.

We urgently need you to continue supporting the hospice in whatever way you can as we cope with the current crisis and the difficult times that will follow.

Our children and families need you now more than ever so we can be here for the future.

How we are continuing to care:

  • We are providing crisis care and respite for the times when things are just too difficult, or parents themselves are unable to care for their children due to illness.
  • We have increased our bed capacity and are taking ever more complex children, sometimes straight from intensive care, in order to free up vital NHS beds.
  • Our family flat has provided a refuge for parents and siblings to gain the confidence to care for their child’s complex medical needs whilst being close by.
  • We have embraced technology to continue to deliver services such as Music and Play Therapy, Therapeutic Yoga and Physiotherapy via video calling.
  • Our play workers have devised play boxes, providing specialist sensory activities tailored to each child and delivered to their front door.
  • Care at end of life continues to be vital and in demand.

Through your support and the recent government funding, which has been made available as a lifeline for us and our families, we have already been able to meet some of the hospice’s immediate needs such as providing a range of critical emergency care services to our children and families who are isolated and particularly vulnerable at this time. We continue to support our colleagues who are on the front-line of the pandemic in the NHS.

The government funding has been necessary to fill part of the sudden drop in income for the short term due to our fundraising events being cancelled and the closure of our shops.

Haven House families need us now more than ever and we still need your help.

Donate now and help us support vulnerable children and families in your local community.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We could not exist without you.
