Being able to enjoy a family activity together is a rarity for this family as Malachi was diagnosed at six months with a life-threatening condition - Vein of Galen Malformation. A condition that required a complex, but lifesaving operation. Tragically, Malachi suffered a brain injury during his operation causing severe neurological issues and leaving him unable to talk or walk and he is fed via a tube.

Please help us be there for more children like Malachi.

Haven House exists for seriously ill children to achieve a better life experience, to live their childhood as fully as possible. Play is important for every child. And this essential part of childhood shouldn’t be limited because a child is seriously ill.

I dont want my son to be defined by his disability. At Haven House hes just like everybody else, hes included and lives a fulfilling life.

Every day, we try to remove barriers so seriously ill children feel included and can enjoy one of the most significant aspects of childhood – play.

"Watching them play together really touches my heart. As a parent you naturally want to treat your children the same, but at times this is difficult.

"Our lives changed when we first started coming to Haven House. We were given a lifeline. We realised that Malachi can have fulfilling life."

- Sylvia, Malachi's mum

It’s only thanks to people like you that we can allow children to be children and explore all areas of play. When things are extremely tough for our families you can help us be here for them.
