On Saturday 29 August 2020, Paul Turrell and Simon Fanning, two longstanding hospice friends and supporters, will be following in the footsteps of Sir Ian Botham and a select few, aiming to walk 900 miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End in just over one month.

The walk will involve an ascent (and descent) of over 10,000 metres – higher than Everest! – and the plan is to walk approximately 30 miles (around 50 km) each day with a rest day every 6-7 days, staying overnight in local hotels or bed and breakfasts.

Mike Palfreman our Chief Executive will be joining the route for much of the journey and we are encouraging you to join them for various stages along the way.

It’s a really demanding and exciting challenge, walking through some of the most scenic parts of the UK. We’re keen to bring other walkers on board and you can join us for whatever parts of the route suit you.

Mike Palfreman, CEO
