Role summary

 

To ensure that siblings of children and young people who meet criteria for Haven House are identified and offered services to support their emotional, psychological and social needs.

To be able to identify siblings who require specialist support and refer on to appropriate services.

To support buddies events with administrative duties such as raising invoices, risk assessments, data input and consent.

To create age appropriate activities for individual children and groups, which may help their understanding of illness and encourage self-expression either at the hospice or part of hospice at home services.

To be able to communicate sensitively to the diverse needs of the families and individual children.

 

Core responsibilities

The primary tasks include:

Organising and facilitating events and activities for the siblings of children who are referred to our services. Some therapeutic background would be essential.

To ensure service feedback and evaluations on each event, as well as contacts being recorded with the Community & Wellbeing Team Administrator.

To maintain accurate and written records in line with the haven house record keeping policy.

To meet with the manager on a regular basis, as well as family and community team members to work in collaboration in organising events and activities.
