News & stories The Big Tea Par-Tea Haven House launched its new Big Tea Par-Tea campaign, sponsored by Hills of Woodford Toyota, with an afternoon tea party for families who use the hospice complete with a cake demonstration by cookery author Amy-Beth Ellice. Amy, who lives in Essex, has whipped up a storm in the culinary world in recent years with her scrumptious array of cake designs and her popular recipe book, Amy's Baking Year. On Saturday 12 August, Amy baked cupcakes for families at Haven House and showed how the cakes could be decorated with a number of simple designs. The event, which was attended by the Mayor of Redbridge, Cllr Linda Huggert, marked the launched of Haven House’s new Big Tea Par-Tea campaign which aims to get people raising funds for the hospice by coming together for a cake, a cuppa and a catch up. Amy-Beth Ellice said: “I’m delighted to be supporting the Big Tea Par-Tea. Haven House is an incredible charity which provides such amazing care for families. Baking is a brilliant way of raising funds for the hospice.” Ginny Donnelly, Community Fundraiser at Haven House, said: "We are really grateful to Amy for launching the Big Tea Par-Tea and agreeing to support the campaign for the next two years. “A Par-Tea is a brilliant way to help Haven House whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply having a get together. “It really is your Tea Par-Tea, your way. However you choose to get involved and create memories with your loved ones, you will be helping the life-limited children and the families we care for to create precious memories of their own. “As long as there are cakes on the table, tea in the pot and friends in the room you have everything that you need to host a Big Tea Par-Tea.” For more information and help to organise your Par-Tea please visit our event page.
