Legendary actor Ray Winstone has visited Haven House Children’s Hospice and offered fans the chance to have dinner with him at a top restaurant in Essex.

Britain’s famous ‘hard man’ took time out from his busy schedule to visit the hospice in Woodford Green at the end of last month and urged his fans to support an online raffle for the charity run by Raffity.

Along with the chance to have dinner with Ray at Smith's in Ongar, his favourite fish restaurant, fans will also receive exclusive rewards based on their level of entry in the raffle, including signed books, t-shirts and posters.

Ray, a patron of the charity, said: “I’ve been supporting Haven House for many years. The staff do wonderful work here. I didn’t know what to expect when I first came here - but it’s a happy place; not just for children who have life-limiting conditions, but also for their families as well.

“Haven House gives parents time and space to deal with caring for an unwell child and I hope as many fans as possible take part in my competition because the hospice really needs your help.”

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “The opportunity to have dinner with our patron Ray Winstone really is a once in a lifetime opportunity. We hope as many of his fans as possible enter the competition in order to raise vital funds for the hospice.

“Not only is Ray one of the country’s best-known and accomplished actors, but he has shown an unwavering commitment to supporting life-limited children and their families over many years.

“Our patrons play a crucial role in helping to raise awareness of Haven House and we always appreciate their time and commitment.”
