The annual Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) Invitational Fishing Championship, in aid of Haven House Children’s Hospice, took place at Manor Farm fishery in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire on Monday 7 September 2015.

A number of PDC legends joined Eastenders actor, Jake Wood and singer-songwriter, Dappy to compete in a 24-man tournament to take home the day’s ‘biggest catch’ and coveted PDC Trophy.

Last year’s winner, former European Super Bantamweight Champion and now Sky commentator Spencer Oliver, picked up his rod to compete against stars from the World of Darts, Snooker and Boxing including six times World Champion Steve Davis OBE, seven times PDC Major Champion James Wade who was competing with his wife, Sky walk-on-girl Sammi Marsh Wade and current British Super Middleweight Champion Paul Smith.

Keen carp fisherman and former N Dubz frontman Dappy also took part along with EastEnders star Jake Wood, who was fishing for the first time.

Jess Harding managing director of JBD Events who promoted the event on behalf of Haven House and the PDC said: “It’s a great event and we are delighted to raise money for Haven House each year so that they can continue their immeasurable work. We would like to thank all our sponsors who make this wonderful day possible.”

Mike Palfreman chief executive of Haven House said: “Thank you to Jess and the team at PDC for putting on a great ‘shoal’ in aid of Haven House. This annual event is a great example of innovative fundraising combining sport and healthy competition to bring people together to support and raise awareness of the hospice.”

Professional angler Steve Collet won the individual trophy and the PDC Players 1 Team won the team trophy consisting of Jason Lovett, James Wade, Ritchie Howson and Doug Banks.

Special thanks to all the event sponsors including McDonald Brown, Wickman, Sibley Law, Carp Couture, Sunwise Sunglasses and Dalroad Ltd.
