We are delighted to announce that Haven House will once again be the charity partner featured on the front of the O's away kit for the 2021/22 season.

Haven House cares for seriously ill children and their families by providing round the clock care at the hospice, surrounded by beautiful grounds and woodland, in Woodford Green and through outreach services in the home and local community. Services include: day care, overnight stays, end of life care, bereavement support, as well as life enriching activities such as sensory play, music therapy and physiotherapy.

Along with mental health charity, Mind, Haven House have been chosen by Harry Kane to appear on the kit for a second season – albeit with a very different colour scheme: last year’s black has given way to an eye-catching neon yellow!

This continued support from both Harry and Leyton Orient will benefit our hospice following a difficult period, when many of our fundraising efforts, including our charity shops, were affected by the pandemic.

One family currently supported by Haven House is the Ryley-Warrens: four-year old Larna was diagnosed with leukemia aged two, and she and her family, including 10-year old brother Blake, receive much-needed help and care from the hospice. Larna and Blake, along with Haven House Lead Nurse Aisling Kilbane, joined us for the kit photo shoot with Harry earlier in the month – and were overjoyed to receive fist bumps, autographs and photos from the England captain.

I’m so happy to be able to donate the away shirt to Haven House for a second season. The need for the care that they provide did not stop with the pandemic, but their ability to raise vital funds did – and so our support is crucial, now more than ever. I'm aware of the vital lifeline Haven House provides to families.

Eileen White, Director of Care at Haven House, said: “What a moment for Larna and Blake. Harry put a huge smile on their faces. Memories which will be with them forever. Thank you to everyone involved in making this happen for our hospice. We’re delighted that Harry’s generosity means we can continue such a special partnership into the 2021/22 season.

"Harry grew up near to the hospice and knows well the vital lifeline we provide to local families. The impact of the past year has been felt by us all, especially our hospice families who have been shielding and isolated at home. As an organisation it has been the toughest year yet. This incredible partnership means so much to us in terms of helping to raise our profile and funds for our work in supporting children with complex healthcare needs. We are incredibly proud and grateful to be part of the O’s family and we are looking forward to working closely with the team and Harry again this year.”

Josh Stephens, Head of Commercial at Leyton Orient FC, said: “Haven House has captured our hearts over the last 12 or so months, and we are thrilled that Harry has chosen to support Haven House again for the 2021/22 season. Having now met several staff and nurses at Haven House, my admiration for them and the incredible work they do has gone through the roof. The work they do is invaluable and the way they care not just for the children, but for their siblings and families as well, is beyond astonishing. And I can’t finish without mentioning Larna, who joined us for the photo shoot with Harry alongside her brother, Blake. Larna – you are a superstar!”
