Haven House announces the appointment of new Chief Executive Officer

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Siân Wicks as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Siân will be joining the organisation at a vital time for the charity following a challenging year for the sector. She will be pivotal in helping us achieve our mission of providing the highest quality of palliative and holistic care to babies, children and young people and their families in our local communities.

Siân has a background of 38 years in health and social care in London and the South East. She is passionate about children’s services and has held a number of executive and other senior roles, including Director of Corporate Assurance and Chief Nursing Officer at Priory Group and Chair of Achieving for Children. She began her career as a nurse and specialised early on in neonatal intensive care.

Following the appointment, Frances Daley, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said: “On behalf of Haven House, I am very pleased to welcome Siân to the organisation. She has significant leadership experience in working across the NHS, the independent sector and the charity sector. I look forward to Siân taking the hospice forward so we can reach even more children and families who need our support.”

Siân said:

I am thrilled and delighted to be appointed as CEO for Haven House. I will be joining the team at Haven House at a time of change and growth as we continue to deal with the impact of Covid-19. I am excited to be leading a fabulous team of people who are all making a huge difference and enabling excellent care to be delivered to babies, children, young people and families. Together we can refresh our strategy and provide a new sustainable plan for the future that extends our reach, tackles inequalities, widens access and works with our communities and partners to build capacity and resilience to care for children and young people who have life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

Siân will join Haven House in early November.
