Haven House Children’s Hospice will open its prized gardens to the public as part of a new campaign designed to encourage green-fingered enthusiasts to raise funds for life-limited children and their families.

The hospice set in 18 acres of protected woodland at The White House on High Road, Woodford Green, is set to hold its first ever Open Gardens Launch event on Saturday 7 May from 12-4pm. The public will be able to view its beautiful surroundings, receive a tour of its historic grounds and enjoy tasty refreshments.

The event will encourage Haven House supporters to open their own gardens up to the public in June as a way of raising funds for the hospice.

Last October, Haven House received a gold medal in the small garden category of the London Hospices Garden Awards.

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “The launch of our Open Gardens Day is a brilliant opportunity for local residents and families to discover the hidden joys of our grounds and our famous arboretum.

“The hospice’s beautiful location next to Epping Forest is one of the reasons that Haven House is such a magical place for our children, families and staff.

“We hope our Open Gardens Launch will encourage gardening enthusiasts to raise funds for local-limited children and their families by opening up their own pride and joy to the public this summer.”
