Newman’s Own Foundation, founded by the late Hollywood actor and philanthropist, Paul Newman, has donated a grant of $10,000 (just over £6,000) to Haven House.

The grant was awarded to a small number of London-based children’s charities which help and support life-limited children and families.  At Haven House, the funds will help to support services at the hospice’s Holistic Care Centre, which opened earlier this month.  Services to benefit from the windfall, will include physiotherapy, therapeutic yoga and counselling.

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of the Woodford Green children’s hospice said of the grant; ‘It’s amazing to think that the philanthropic legacy of this huge Hollywood icon, is continuing to help life-limited children and families in our area.’  He continues; ‘This is a great step in securing much-need funding for vital services in our new Holistic Care Centre.’

Robert Forrester, President and CEO of the foundation added; ‘Paul Newman was dedicated to helping improve the lives of children with serious illness and we are pleased and privileged to continue his commitment by funding charities that are making a difference for these children.’
