Haven House Children’s Hospice is urging the public to turn Epping Forest orange by taking part in its annual Pumpkin Plod family fundraiser on Sunday 23 October.

The charity is encouraging adults and children to wear orange and dress up as pumpkins for its sponsored 2k or 5k walk through the forest from its grounds at The White House on High Road, Woodford Green.

All participants will receive an exciting pumpkin-themed goody bag on arrival.

The warm-up starts at 2pm with face painting, Bailey’s hot chocolate, pumpkin merchandise and other refreshments on sale, ahead of the start of walks at 3pm.

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “We really want to see as many pumpkins as possible in our annual Pumpkin Plod and we are delighted that The Woodford restaurant is sponsoring this year’s event.

“Our Pumpkin Plod is the perfect half-term activity and a brilliant way to support local life-limited children and their families.

“This year you’ll find trick or treats in our gunge tanks along the way and a BBQ waiting for you at the hospice on return.”
