Get involved Other ways to give Help more children with life-limiting conditions spend precious time at home with their family this Christmas Most families want to be together at home over the Christmas period. It’s not always easy for families to travel to the hospice, especially when children have complex conditions and needs. Making multiple visits can be a strain especially if they are only accessing one service. At Haven House we have developed Hospice at Home and Toy Home loan services. This makes a big difference to the children’s quality of life allowing them to access services in the comfort of their own home and giving families more choice in the care of their child. We are able to help around 350 children a year, but we estimate 2,000 children need access to our services in the local area.Help us ensure that more Haven House Children spend time at home with their families, this Christmas and all year round. The Gift of Family Time - £20 can go towards support at home by our specialist care team, giving a family more precious time together this Christmas. The Gift of Play - £35 could pay for one session of play for a child to enjoy with our specialist Play Co-ordinator.The Gift of Music - £75 pays for one session for a child to experience the joy of music through sound and encourage interaction with Music Therapist.Send us a Christmas wish and we will pass it on to our children and families. Every message you send will be shared with our children, families and care team.Fiona is a Toy Home Loan Co-Ordinator and visits families and children at home, and provides them with toys to help develop and engage their senses; encouraging each child to play, create and explore. The specialist sensory toys are designed to help relieve stress and stimulate movement and we provide this service free to each family. They may not be able to afford them otherwise, and they would have to make extra journeys to the hospice to access them.Finnley is three years old, visually impaired, has epilepsy and severe delay.
