You will no doubt be aware that the London Marathon in its regular format has been cancelled for this year. It is a shame, but totally understandable. I have the option to run it next year, which I am going to do.

However, Haven House needs support more than ever this year and I feel I can't let them down. And let's face it, I have now trained for a marathon twice in one year so I really ought to flipping well run one. So, I am still going to run a marathon on October 4th. I have picked a route near my home and I will actually be going past Haven House twice on my route, which I hope will spur me on.

This will be my second marathon and my second one raising money for Haven House. I actually have Haven House to thank for getting me into running in the first place. Starting with their chasing elves race a couple of years ago. My sorry performance in that event pushed me on to take my running more seriously. And so I ended up running my first marathon at the age of fi... erm.. thirty nine ;o)

I am raising money for Haven House Children’s Hospice because they believe in the best possible life for every baby, child and young person with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and their families, who live in our local communities.

It’s a great cause, and your donation will help them achieve even more. Donating is easy, quick and secure. Clair Barber
