Haven House Children’s Hospice is facing a huge challenge as a result of the current COVID-19 crisis and we need your help.

The hospice is a lifeline for hundreds of children and families and they need us now more than ever. We still remain uncertain of what the future holds and are continuing to look to our local community for support.

We urgently need you to continue supporting the hospice in whatever way you can as we cope with the current crisis and the difficult times that will follow.

During the current crisis, the hospice’s services remain vital, working closely with the NHS and continuing to help families by prioritising 24/7 emergency care, supporting colleagues in the NHS by accepting more referrals and taking non-emergency children out of hospitals, as well as increasing support for families in the home. But with limited guaranteed income, resources and finances are nearing breaking point.

On 2 May, the original start date for the John O’Groats to Lands End walk, Simon and Matt Fanning successfully rowed 43 km from Dover to Calais (on a rowing machine in their back garden) to help raise vital funds for the charity. Then on Saturday 29th August, Simon and Paul Turrell will be following in the footsteps of Sir Ian Botham and a select few, aiming to walk 900 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End in just over one month. Mike Palfreman, CEO of Haven House, and many others will be joining them at various stages along the way.

Our aim across both events is to raise £100k for Haven House Children's Hospice to support this amazing charity through and beyond the current crisis.

Based in North East London, Haven House provides a wide range of essential services for life-limited children and young people. These services include respite, play and therapies as well as vital support at and beyond end of life, both for the child, the parents, siblings and the wider families. The hospice's overall aims are to give these children the happiest lives possible for as long as they do survive, and to enable families to make memories they can hold onto long into the future. The difference the hospice makes to many lives is huge and tangible.

Please support Haven House through these challenging times and beyond by sponsoring us for however much you can afford. A very big thank you from all of us.
