Paul Carman Dear All

I am very excited to announce that in celebration of reaching HALF a century I will be tackling the Pescara HALF Ironman in June 2017. To help keep the mental focus on my part I would be extremely grateful if you could help me by making any donation you can spare to Haven House.

I know many of you at Mizuho will know of Haven House as the bank's chosen charity but many others may not be aware of who they are and what they do. Haven House is a unique hospice located in London and any donation will help with their critical goal of reaching and supporting more life-limited children and their families.

You will be helping to support children like Corey. Corey has microcephaly - meaning abnormal smallness of the head and incomplete brain development. He has lots of complex conditions including, degenerative brain disease, epilepsy, respiratory disease and brittle bones. He requires use of a wheelchair and he has to be kept at a 45 degree angle at all times in order to prevent aspiration pneumonia. Corey needs to use a nebuliser and suction machine and is tube fed which means it’s difficult for Corey and his mum to travel far.

Corey comes to Haven House for respite. Life for Corey's mum can often be very isolating which is why she also benefits from Haven House’s Toy Home Loan service.

I've had the opportunity to visit the hospice and its a hugely humbling experience which can't help make you think about what happens in the wider world on a day to day basis. I'm really hopeful that through some small physical and mental challenge on my part you might be able to help be to do some good for such a worthy cause.

Thank you all for reading this and in advance for your donations.
