During my time at Redburn I became involved with Haven House, through the work gardening day and whilst representing Redburn as the Platinum sponsor for the Charity at their recent fundraiser ball, where we helped them to raise £89,000.

Haven house is a fantastic charity that provides care and support to life-limited children and their families. They offer day care and over-night stay options, allowing parents to personalise the blank hospice rooms with their child’s own belongings to provide a sense of home. They have an onsite flat where the parents can stay if they wish. Along with care, Haven house provides activities to stimulate the children, ranging from art and music classes to their recently created sensory garden. Haven house also provide families the option to let their child stay at the hospice in order to give families a chance to rest and have some time to themselves. I believe this is particularly important as providing care to a life limited child can take up almost all of your time and having some me-time is hugely taken for granted by most people.

Haven House is a very worthy cause and I plan on raising more than £2000 so they may continue to enhance the lives of these children and their families. Please help me reach this goal and in return I shall keep you updated on my training and try to run 26 miles alongside 40,000 other people, through the middle of London, in under 4 hours.
