Haven House is delighted to announce that a two-year partnership with Mizuho has raised more than £120,000.

Employees at the City-based corporate and investment bank fundraised and volunteered for Haven House in huge numbers with more than 100 employees taking part in two Mizuho 'Volunteer Weeks' during the partnership.

Staff chose a variety of ways to raise funds including golf days, dress down days, cake sales, challenge events, table tennis tournaments and so on - and a fantastic auction of artwork also took place when Mizuho moved from their former location on Friday Street to their current offices in Old Bailey.

Mizuho hosted an exhibition of artwork produced by the siblings of the children supported by the hospice, sponsored the inaugural Women in Business event and made a generous donation towards the refurbishment of the hospice’s conservatory. The firm also held stock drives to support the charity's retail shops and gave toys in support of the Toy Wish List.

All of the funds raised during the partnership have been directed towards nursing costs.

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “We are so grateful for the support we have received from Mizuho since 2016 and thankful that they chose to direct the funds they raised towards the lifeblood of our hospice, our nurses, who do amazing work every day.

“This has been an exceptional partnership and one that we are very proud to say saw high levels of engagement across both organisations; Mizuho are well and truly part of the Haven House family.”

The firm decided to support the Woodford-Green based charity after it was selected via an employee nomination and voting process. Support for the charity, which cares for children with life-limiting illnesses, extended across Mizuho Bank Ltd., Mizuho International plc, and Asset Management One International Ltd under the banner of One Mizuho.

An end of partnership celebration was held at Mizuho House last autumn, where Mizuho were presented with a framed gold leaf, a replica of the gold leaf that now sits on the Tree of Recognition at the hospice to mark their support of Haven House.
