Secondary schools and colleges can make a real difference to families like Ollie's by taking on a fundraising challenge.

Activities can be tailored to coincide with term-times or can work all-year round.

Our most popular ideas include:

  • Take on the Fiver Factory and create some competition within the classroom
  • Hold a dress-down or pyjama day
  • Design your own event such as a Superhero fun run or 3 legged race or go back to childhood and have an old fashioned sports day. For some tips and advice read our  Things to consider factsheet (PDF 196kb).
  • Get with the bake-off buzz and organise a school-wide Big Tea Par-tea
  • Be unique, instead of an end-of-term gift or Christmas present for your teacher why not give a donation in their name to Haven House

We also have volunteering ideas for school and college groups that take part in programmes such as the National Citizenship Service (NCS), First Give or Duke of Edinburgh Award schemes.

For inspiration, read how we've been working with the National Citizenship Service (NCS) in our local area.

Whatever you decide our team will help to support you throughout your fundraising. We will come and speak at an assembly, meeting or class to tell you about how we support families at Haven House. We regularly hold brainstorming sessions or workshop with students to discuss your ideas.

We can send you balloons, collection buckets, t-shirts, posters and more to help kickstart your challenge.

It was the pleasure of my classmates to support Haven House. I hope the bond between the school and Haven House continues for the foreseeable future.
