Haven House got into the Halloween spirit this half term with some fang-tastic fun!

More than 20 brothers and sisters of the children we support had a scarily good time at our Halloween themed day. Children enjoyed pumpkin picking in our beautiful grounds and a whole range of creepy crafts using clay and plenty of glitter!

And as if that wasn’t enough frightening fun, there was also face painting, a hair-raising music session and a lunch of pizza. Children were then able to make the most of our new playground Haven Island.

Our help and care at Haven House extends to the whole family. We provide much valued support through a dedicated group known as Buddies, for siblings who live with a seriously ill child. The children and young people have access to various support systems.
The sibling service offers the opportunity for siblings to be themselves, to have fun and feel special. Most importantly, children are able to discuss common fears, joys, concerns and feelings.

It was fabulous seeing the children enjoying themselves, making new friends and getting involved with the activities. We have had some great feedback from the siblings describing the day as ‘terrific’ and ‘epic’. We can’t wait to have them back at the hospice soon.
