Please note that we have limited opportunities for volunteers to work directly with our children. We do not offer opportunities to read to, or play with, the children unless you have a specific healthcare or play specialist qualification.

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate volunteers under the age of 16.

Anyone applying to work with Haven House MUST answer the following questions:

If you are applying for a post which will bring you into contact with children and/or young people as part of your duties, you are required, under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exception Order) 1975 and or (NI) 1979 to disclose any convictions which may be considered ‘spent’ for any other purposes. You will also be required to give permission for a Police Record check before your appointment is finally confirmed.

If you have had a bereavement in the family or death of a close friend within the past 18 months, we would strongly recommend that you contact us to volunteer after this period of time has passed.
