Get involved Volunteer Volunteer for us Complete this form if you are interested in volunteering for us at future events and fundraising activities. Happy Volunteer Week! We want to celebrate our wonderful volunteers who help us keep the hospice going whether it's supporting our team or at our fundraising activities! It's all a little bit different this year as our events are cancelled and the future of our hospice has never been so uncertain. If you have supported us in any way, we'd like to thank you and let you know we are thinking of you. We are doing everything possible to continue to care and provide vital services to seriously ill children and families. The future is looking brighter and we can’t wait to welcome all our volunteers back in 2021! Our volunteers have been an incredible support to our hospice by getting involved in our virtual events, supporting each other with essential drop offs and continuing to keep us in their thoughts. A huge thank you to our volunteers! Without you, we would not be able to continue to raise money for the children we support. Sign up to our Volunteer newsletter to hear about our opportunities and updates Whether it's volunteering at our events, gardening in our hospice grounds or supporting our reception team, they make a difference to our children and families every day. Without our volunteers we could not host our spectacular community and special events to raise the vital funds we need to continue to help local families who need us the most. Find more about our on-going volunteering roles If you'd like to help Haven House by giving your time; even a couple of hours a month, you can make a big difference to local seriously ill children and their families. One of the ways you could do this is by giving a few hours a week in one of our seven retail shops. Our shops could not run without our volunteers and their input is vital. Our retail volunteers have stepped up so much over the past year with so much stopping and starting and restrictions placed on them in the shops to continue to run. We want to thank them for all their support and for sticking with us. The shop volunteers work together as a team ensuring that customers have a great shopping experience as well as helping to promote our hospice in the local community. Our volunteers gain lots of skills such as till work, customer service, merchandising, sorting . Meet volunteers Jigisha and Sunil “We both enjoy Haven House for many reasons but most importantly is the friendliness of all the staff, which makes us continue to volunteer.” After searching for volunteering opportunities on Google, Jigisha and Sunil say that Haven House fulfilled everything they were looking for. They were particularly keen to volunteer for a local children’s charity – and Haven House is just that. Supporting the hospice’s mission and making a difference to the lives of seriously ill children is very important to them. They particularly enjoy supporting and interacting with the public at various hospice events, functions and bucket collections. Since 2020 Jigisha has also been regularly volunteering at our Romford shop. She loves interacting with the customers in this role and helping to keep the shop looking welcoming. By volunteering you can meet new people, learn new skills. We welcome volunteers whatever your experience and rely on help to run our seven charity shops, support our office team, helping out in the community at public collections and our fun fundraising events. Whatever your motivation, your efforts will make a real contribution to the work of our hospice. We'd love to hear from you. Get in touch to find out more about volunteering at our hospice.
