Get together with family and friends for cake, a cuppa and a catch up to raise funds for Haven House. If you like to bake, celebrating a special occasion or just looking for time to relax and catch up then The Big Tea Party is for you. After all, any day is a good excuse to eat cake!

You can hold your Big Tea Party on any day of the year, however this year we are holding our first ever Big Tea Party Week which runs from 8-16 June, so why not join in the fun?

For an evening Party with a difference why not channel your inner 1920's movie idol, gangster or flapper and have a Big Prohibition Tea Party. Invite your friends, dress to impress and drink your favourite tipple from a teacup. It really is your tea party your way.

Sign up today for your free fundraising kit, with lots of tips and fun resources to help you host your Big Tea Party.

You can also download our bunting (pdf1.55mb), cake bingo card (pdf 3.4mb)  and invitations (pdf 1.54mb) to add to the fun of your Big Tea Party.

We are delighted that Melissa Hemsley is fronting our campaign. Melissa’s professional food career began as a private chef with her sister, Jasmine. After several successful years cooking wholesome, nourishing meals for international actors and musicians like Take That, Hemsley + Hemsley published two bestselling cookery books and opened a café in Selfridges. She cooks, writes and tends her vegetable garden in Leytonstone, where she lives with her boyfriend Henry and their dog Nelly – as well as a steady stream of hungry diners, happily squeezed around her kitchen table.

“Baking for me, is a wonderful way to use up all the odds & ends that I may have in my cupboards & figure out what I can make with them. I’ve always got bananas that need some love & I’m a woman with a bowl full of eggs in my kitchen at all times, so throwing something sweet together is a waste-free way of making everyone happy. I’ll always look out for Fairtrade & British grown products where possible in my baking, especially in lovely chocolate treats. There’s nothing quite like the smell of something yummy baking in the oven. Especially when you’ve got loved ones coming over and you all get to sit down with a lovely cup of tea & wind down. The Big Tea Party is a great opportunity to get together with friends and family while raising money for the vital care and support that Haven House provides to children and families.”

You can try some of Melissa's delicious recipes yourself, like her Lemon Drizzle Cup Cakes or  Choc Bake

You don't have to be an expert at baking, so don't let that hold you back; you can create some 'easy mix' or 'no bake cakes or even pop to your local supermarket to buy some. As long as there are cakes on the table, tea in the pot and friends in the room your have everything you need to host a Big Tea Par-Tea.

You can download recipes for an easy mix lemon drizzle cake and a 'no bake' chocolate and marshmallow biscuit cake here.

By getting involved, raising money and creating memories with your loved ones, you will be helping the life-limited children we care for and their families to create precious memories of their own.

Sometimes you never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory - enjoy making yours...

We didn't realise we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun.
