To mark International Nurses Day (12 May), we handed the camera over to our nurses and healthcare support workers for a behind-the-scenes photo project celebrating the people at the heart of care across our hospice.

Using a Polaroid camera, members of our care teams photographed the everyday moments of connection, support and togetherness that happen throughout the hospice. From smiley team photos and shared moments between colleagues to quieter scenes behind the scenes, the project was designed to help families, supporters and colleagues get to know the people who provide our care every day.

The images have been brought together in a short reel offering a glimpse into the everyday moments shared across our care teams.

Neepa, Head of Human Resources, said: “International Nurses Day is an important opportunity to recognise and thank our incredible nurses and healthcare support workers for the care and compassion they show every day. These photographs beautifully reflect the warmth, dedication and support that exists across our care teams. We are deeply grateful for everything they do for the children, young people and families in our care.”

This initiative celebrated the dedication and compassion of our nurses and healthcare support workers. As a small gesture of appreciation, members of the care team were also gifted a voucher in recognition of everything they do.

This International Nurses Day, we thank every member of our care team for the difference they make each and every day.
