When they first heard about the impact of the pandemic, law firm Campbell Johnston Clark (CJC)  stepped up to co-sponsor our first-ever 24/7 challenge event. They were determined to do what they could for Haven House and get their friends, families and colleagues involved as well!

Long-term hospice supporter Alistair Johnston led the way with his incredible 5,000-mile cycle challenge. He committed to cycle a set number of miles every week – come rain or shine – until he hit his 5,000-mile target.

The team weren’t done there. CJC set up their 24/7 challenge fundraising page so everyone could get involved, sharing this far and wide with colleagues and connections - including their friends at engineering consultancy AqualisBraemar LOC, who stepped up and organised their own online quiz, with more than 60 people taking part. Other fundraising activities included walking, running – and even hula hooping!

More recently, our supporters at CJC have supported Haven House by taking part in individual challenges such as the London Marathon and London Landmarks Half Marathon. Directors Alistair and Paul also completed an incredible cycle from Newcastle to Edinburgh, and raised an amazing £11,000 for Haven House! They have also co-sponsored our Big Night Out hosted by Ben Shephard, and our most recent Comedy Night.

‘Having visited Haven House several years ago, the incredible work done and peaceful, loving, family atmosphere just stayed with me.  Crises such as the pandemic often bring to the fore what really counts, as well as highlighting the real heroines and heroes – those caring for the more vulnerable in society.’  Maria Borg Barthet, Campbell Johnston Clark (CJC)
