  • Red House Box (RHB) ambassadors needed in Ilford, Walthamstow, Loughton, Debden, Epping, Wanstead, Harlow, Enfield, Dagenham and Barking, Chadwell Heath and Romford, particularly in the highlighted areas. The role involves managing the area/high streets; keeping a check on the existing boxes and replacing them when required. Our team will provide you with a detailed area sheet and admin and office support.
  • Retail Assistants - We need support in our shops.  If you would like to volunteer as a retail assistant we have seven shops in Crouch End, Epping, Romford, Loughton, Chingford, North Chingford and Leytonstone.  We particular need volunteers in our Crouch End shop.
  • eBay volunteer - we need a volunteer who is familiar with selling items on eBay and who understands the general principles of selling online.  The role involves assisting our Online Sales Manager and helping to sort through donations, researching to identify an items value and also basic help with postage and packaging.

EVENTS

Secret Spring Garden Party – Saturday 18th May 2019

The Travellers Friend are hosting a garden party and would like 2 – 3 volunteers to help on the day and also run a raffle. There will be Gin stalls, Pimms Bar, Sweet stalls, Children’s entertainer, face painter and much more!

Bark in the Park - Sunday 2nd June 2019

Haven House first Enfield community event taking place on Sunday 2 June at Trent Park in Cockfosters which will be a sponsored Dog Walk called Bark in the Park.  Details are as follows :

  • Event Name: Bark in the Park
  • Event Date: Sunday 2 June 2019
  • Event Timings: 9:30 – 12:00
  • Event Description: 5K Sponsored Dog walk around Trent Park starting and finishing at The Cock Inn Chalk Lane, London, Barnet EN4 9HU.
  • Volunteer Activity: We are looking for around 10 volunteers to help us on the day this will include the following roles
    • Registration: Signing in participants before they arrive at the start of the walk.
    • Stewardship: Walk the route as part of the mass group following the group leader (A Haven House member of staff who know the route) and making sure no participants get lost, no litter is left behind and handing out spare doggy bags when needed.
    • Finish line Set Up/Greeter: Setting up the finish area in the Beer Garden of the Cock Inn greeting participants when they return and handing out medals and goody bags

Harvey Centre Harlow – Saturday 8th June 2019

The Harvey Centre are having a fun family day. Paradise Wildlife Park will be there. We need 2 -3 people to run a raffle stand from 10am - 4pm.  This can be broken down into shifts if easier.

Tea Party – Friday 14th June 2019

One of our volunteers is putting on a tea party in aid of Haven House in South Woodford and she needs volunteers to help with setting up and tidying up. This is an all day event which is run every year in aid of Haven House and is good fun and very busy!

Summer Festival: Saturday 29 June 2019

  • Timings tbc but likely to be from 11am-7pm
  • Roles will vary and include parking, entrance, catering, games, entertainment, children’s crafts and manning stalls

Summer Event : Repton Park Saturday 6th July 2019

 A supporter is putting on a summer event in aid of Haven House at Repton Park. There will be food, music, activities, stalls, etc. Ideally, they are looking for 10 – 20 volunteers to help with stalls, raffle, etc. and to help man the gates.

Events Committee

  • A brand new committee to support the Community Events Team in delivering their yearly calendar of fundraising events, including the Sparkle Walk, Summer Festival and Christmas Wonderland. The committee will help us gain new ideas, gather extra resources and involve more volunteers to help us bring our events together.
  • There will be various opportunities to get involved with and you can choose your level of commitment. There will be a monthly email update and a quarterly meeting to get together and share ideas.
  • Let us know if you’re interested and we plan to set up the first meeting in February.
