Whether it's volunteering at our events, gardening in our hospice grounds or supporting our reception team, you can make a difference to our children and families every day.

Meet volunteer Kelly

Kelly has been volunteering as an eBay volunteer for 7 years in total and 3 of those years have been at Haven House. She comes in two days a week and packs all the items that have been sold on our eBay shop to be sent out. Kelly is deaf and had been struggling to find paid work, that is when she decided to look at volunteering instead. She found that at home she was getting bored and down as she wanted to have an active role in her community. Kelly really enjoys the role they have fun in the team as it’s a social role. She also enjoys seeing what unusual items sell on eBay and seeing how much they are worth. She loves it as the role keeps her active.

Tracey our online sales manager says, "Kelly is such a hard worker I could not do it without her. She is also someone you can call if you need some extra help and always gives more when she can".

Kelly feels she has built up so many skills in the role such as organisation, packing/wrapping, team working, confidence and communication skills.
