TV presenter Mark Wright and his family helped raise more than £83,000 at our annual Autumn Ball.

The black tie event, sponsored by The Health Lottery ELM Ltd, was held at the exclusive London Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square on Thursday 29 September.

Mark, a Haven House ambassador, hosted the ball for a second time and was joined by proud parents Carol Wright and Mark Wright Snr, along with sisters Jessica and Natalya Wright.

Other celebrity guests included Haven House Patron Vicki Michelle, food writer and OK! Magazine columnist Amy-Beth Ellice, and Mitch Winehouse and Janis Winehouse.

Prized lots which went under the hammer at auction included a one-week stay at the scenic Azzurra Castle on Grenada in the West Indies, sold for £9,500 and the use of an eight-seater private jet to Paris, attracting £9,300.

After a three-course dinner guests were shown Haven House’s new appeal film which features families who use the hospice.

The film will be launched on the charity’s website and social media channels at the start of Hospice Care Week on Monday.

Special guests at the ball Harry and Aisha, who appear in the film, were praised on stage by Mark Wright and given a standing ovation by a teary-eyed audience.

Afterwards Mark Wright said: “Haven House makes such a difference to local families and I was blown away when I watched the charity’s new film.

“It’s heart-breaking to hear the families’ stories, but inspiring to know they are getting incredible support from such a brilliant charity.”

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “Once again Mark Wright proved to be the perfect host for our Autumn Ball which raised a spectacular amount for our children and their families.

“It was brilliant to see so many celebrities giving their time for our cause and I would like to thank all of our guests for their exceptional generosity.”

Since 2013 Haven House has raised more than £292,000 through its exclusive ball events.
