Income Generation and Marketing Committee Members

We are seeking proactive individuals with a business background to join the Income Generation & Marketing (IGM) Committee to help steer and further develop its annual programme of fundraising activities.

Expand

Haven House relies on the generosity of its business partners and individual donors to fund our £4.4m hospice services. Without this support we could not help the 300 children and families that use our services each year.

As we plan to increase our voluntary income over the next five years to support more children and families in the face of likely reduced Government funding, we are looking for individuals with business skills who can support our ambitious fundraising plans.

Our Committee Members play a key role in supporting the IGM team across all fundraising areas including events, major gifts, corporate partnerships and retail. They provide guidance and advice in areas of their own professional expertise and are happy to bring their networks to the table.

Suitable candidates will be interested in supporting any of the following areas of activity:

  • High-level events such as balls, gala dinners or networking events
  • Company giving schemes or experience of making connections between charitable activities and business
  • Retail development
  • Legal, in particular conveyancing, commercial negotiations and/or legacies
  • Business development.

Candidates should also enjoy working collaboratively and in partnership with a dedicated fundraising team to support them to test and pilot new fundraising schemes.

Committee members would be expected to:

  • Attend committee meetings (4-6 times a year)
  • Attend Haven House events, with a particular focus on our high-level, special events programme
  • Promote events and activities within their personal and/or professional network
  • Use their professional experience to help Haven House to further develop its voluntary income.

In return you will

  • Join a successful team that puts children and families at the heart of everything we do
  • Have the opportunity to be part of a programme of exclusive events with high-profile speakers and special guests
  • Have the opportunity to develop your own network within the City of London and across the communities that are local to Haven House.

In order that our committees represent the families in our care, we are especially keen to hear from women and/or individuals who can represent the diversity and different faiths of our children and families.

Haven House is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role is subject to receipt of satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check.
