Haven House Children’s Hospice will hold its second Sunrise Swim challenge in partnership with leisure operator Better, at London Fields Lido in Hackney on Sunday 19 June.

The hospice is asking its supporters to take the plunge and swim 77 lengths (3,850m) individually or as a team in order to raise funds on the longest day of the year.

The distance is the equivalent in metres of £3,850, which would pay for a day of hospice care at Haven House in Woodford Green.

Start times for the event will be staggered from 6.30am which means swimmers will be able to choose their preferred time to start the challenge.

Charlotte Terry, Head of Community Engagement at Haven House, said: “We are delighted to be holding our second Sunrise Swim challenge at London Fields Lido in partnership with Better. Swimming is a great summer activity and this is the perfect way to mark the longest day of the year whilst raising funds for local life-limited children and their families.”

Rafal Cymbalista, Service Manager at London Fields Lido, said: “Haven House is a brilliant local charity which provides fantastic support to children and their families in Hackney. Better’s relationship with Haven House goes from strength to strength and we hope as many people as possible will take part in the Sunrise Swim on Sunday 19 June.”

Entry is £10 per person and every participant will receive a Haven House medal.

Minimum sponsorship: £75-£100 each, dependent on team size.
