Haven House held its Orbian Business Breakfast with WPP founder and Chief Executive Sir Martin Sorrell and Newsnight presenter Evan Davis on Thursday 23 November which raised a record £34,259 for the charity at Simpson’s-in-the Strand.

Sir Martin, one of the UK’s most high-profile businesspeople, shared his insight with Evan on a range of topics, including the recent budget and the need for organisations to collaborate and invest in marketing.

One hundred and twenty guests enjoyed breakfast before Haven House Patron, Iain Duncan Smith MP, introduced Sir Martin and Evan on stage.

Following a 30 minute Q&A, Haven House Trustee Michael Herst thanked Sir Martin and Evan and invited guests to watch the charity’s new appeal film.

The film shows Jessica, Antony and Adam, three young people from Haven House’s Teenage Cancer Group talking candidly about the impact of receiving a cancer diagnosis and how Haven House provides support to children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions, and their families.

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “We are so grateful to Sir Martin Sorrell and Evan Davis for generously supporting this year’s Business Breakfast.

“The breakfast is one of our most exclusive and high-powered corporate events and raised a record amount for our hospice.

“We would also like to thank Orbian for sponsoring the event along with our Patron, Iain Duncan Smith MP and Michael Herst, Trustee of Haven House and Director of Osprey for all of their hard work.”
