TV star and model Casey Batchelor will undertake a firewalk for Haven House Children’s Hospice next month as part of Mad March and she wants her fans to do the same.

The Celebrity Big Brother favourite will be walking on 20 feet of wood embers burning at 1,236°F on Wednesday 23 March.

The firewalk will take place in the grounds of the hospice on High Road, Woodford Green, at 4.15pm. Haven House Chief Executive Mike Palfreman and Director of Finance Anne Spong have also signed up for the challenge.

Casey Batchelor said: “When Haven House asked me if I would like to do their firewalk for Mad March, I just had to say ‘Yes!’ The hospice provides a magical service to children and families in our area - but without your support - Haven House wouldn’t be able to function.

“I visited the hospice in the Autumn and found it a deeply moving experience. Seeing the phenomenal staff care for the children makes you realise how lucky we are. I hope that as many people as possible will join me in signing up for the firewalk and raise funds for Haven House.”

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “We are delighted that Casey is undertaking the Haven House firewalk for Mad March. It has already proven to be a very popular challenge event. Walking on 20 feet of wood embers burning at 1,236°F is a slightly daunting prospect, however knowing that funds are being raised to support local life-limited children and their families will make it all worthwhile.”

As part of #MadMarch, Haven House will also be putting on a bungee jump at the O2 on 12 March.

To sign up for the bungee jump or for the firewalk, please visit our Challenge Events page or call Community and Events Fundraiser Joanne Lazarus on 020 8498 5849 or email [email protected].
