At Haven House we provide care for all the family, when and where they need us. Sometimes this is nursing support, practical support, or emotional support. One of the most important ways we help families is with support for their mental health.

Living with a seriously ill child or sibling can be one of the hardest things a family can face together. The emotional and mental journey that these families face is immense and can often include grief, anxiety, despair, and depression. Caring for a life limited child or sibling can often be an isolating and lonely experience and it can take time to come to terms with how the future might look.

We provide specialist mental health support for our families, together as a family unit or individually according to what they need. Our therapeutic approaches help build resilience and meet our children and families wherever they are on their journey.

We are happy to announce that we are making significant developments and investment in expanding the types of mental health support available. We are developing a new clinical psychology service and child wellbeing service. These will work alongside our existing counselling, sibling support and group support services to ensure that our children and families get the support they need, as quickly as possible.

For children and families facing serious illness, the journey can be unpredictable and uncertain. Haven House helps these families by building resilience and providing the dedicated support they need to face these challenges.
