Mallards Wood Daycare Nursery and Treehouse Nursery School held a Family Carnival at Haven House Children’s Hospice on Saturday 22 September and raised over £3,000 for the hospice with a sea of dazzling costumes on display.

The Mayors of Redbridge and Waltham Forest attended the event which featured carnival dancers, live music by the Tropicalia Latin Brazilian Show, face painting, ice creams, candy floss, a BBQ and Pimm's and beer tent for adults.

More than 100 children and adults attended the carnival with all proceeds going to Haven House in Woodford Green.

Lindy Hunt, Head of Community Engagement at Haven House said: “We are very grateful to Mallards Wood Daycare Nursery and Treehouse Nursery School for holding our first ever Family Carnival in our grounds.

“We were delighted that the Mayors of Redbridge and Waltham Forest were able to attend, and the costumes and Brazilian dancers were amazing.

“The carnival raised a fantastic amount of funds which will help support more life-limited children and families in the local area.”
