A host of stars including Gemma Collins, James Argent and Ferne McCann came together to show their support for Haven House.

The event, which took place at the Vojan restaurant in Ongar, was hosted by the TV personalities Gemma Collins and James Argent and raised an incredible £8,000 for the hospice. The evening included entertainment from The Arg Band and X Factor’s Ché Chesterman and Britain’s Got Talent Tony Roberts.

Around 180 guests enjoyed a great Indian feast before taking part in a money-can’t-buy auction which included VIP tickets to see Take That on tour at the O2, as well as a personal shopping experience with Gemma in her Boutique in Brentwood, which she generously donated.

I am so proud to be hosting this event for Haven House. We often take our lives for granted. It’s important that we stop and think of others. It’s vital that we continue to raise as much money as we can to support the families who are facing the unimaginable and who are being cared for by the hospice. I am honoured to be able to help in any way I can.

The Arg Band, comprising of seven musician and singers, played a variety of classics including; Dean Martin’s ‘That’s Amore’, The Temptations ‘My Girl’ and Bob Marley’s ‘Jammin’ – which were so enjoyed by the guests.

James, who has been a long-term supporter of the Woodford hospice, added:

I have grown up in Woodford Green and Haven House is very close to my heart. I am delighted that The Arg Band was able to offer the public, our friends and family, a great show and a great experience for such a brilliant cause. The demands and difficulties faced by families who have a child with a life-limiting condition are immense, so the amount of money raised tonight will ensure that Haven House can provide invaluable support for local families.

Supporting the couple on the night were friends and family including ‘First Time Mum’ star Ferne McCann and global musician and producer Naughty Boy.

Pushpinder Gill, Director of Income Generation and Marketing at Haven House, said:

It has been the most fantastic evening and we are so grateful to Gemma and James for their support and to all our incredible guests. We are thrilled by the generosity from each one of them – their support will make a huge difference to the lives of the children and families we provide vital care to at our hospice.
