Haven House Children’s Hospice will be holding its first ever Bucket-a-thon in December.

The festive fundraiser is a month packed full of bucket collections at various events and locations such as pantomimes, Christmas fayres and train stations in London and West Essex.

Some of the collections will also feature wonderful carol singing from local choirs with an overall aim of raising £10,000 for the hospice in Woodford Green.

Local collections will take place at Buckhurst Hill, Chingford Mount, Enfield, Epping Forest, Harlow, Highams Park, Ilford, Leytonstone, Loughton, Romford, Southgate, South Woodford and Walthamstow.

There will also be collections at London’s busiest tourist attractions and stations, including Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park, Piccadilly Circus, London Bridge, Stratford, South Kensington and Waterloo.

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “The Bucket-a-thon is a fantastic opportunity for us to raise both awareness and funds for Haven House and we’re hoping our local community will get behind the campaign to make it a success.

“You can support our Bucket-a-thon in a number of ways; either by sparing a few hours to help with a collection, running a collection yourself or giving to one of the many we have already booked.

“For local businesses, it’s a really easy way to support local life-limited children this festive season by letting your staff have just one or two hours off to help with one of our collections. If you can’t get to one, you can still support our Bucket-a-thon by donating on our website.”
