Haven House Children’s Hospice is delighted to announce reality TV stars Billie and Greg Shepherd as the charity's new ambassadors.

The couple from Brentwood, Essex, pledged their support following a recent visit to the hospice, which cares for seriously ill babies and children by creating a loving and warm environment for them and their families while they go through the toughest of times.

Billie, who has worked with Haven House for years, said that now she has her own children, Nelly, four, and Arthur, two, the charity feels even closer to her heart.

During their visit to the Woodford-Green based hospice, both Billie and Greg were at ease, spending time with children and their families and seeing the facilities such as the play, sensory and music rooms.

Billie, 29, said: “Haven House is an amazing charity. We are delighted to be formally associated with the hospice as their ambassadors. It is one of the most inspiring places.

“We have been impressed and moved during a recent visit. When I walked in, I immediately felt embraced. This is a very special local charity, helping children and families facing the toughest imaginable challenges, and I think Haven House deserves all of our support.”

Haven House provides round the clock care at the hospice and through outreach services in the home and local community. We support children with complex medical needs and their families through; day care, over-night stays, end of life care, bereavement support, as well as life enriching activities such as play, music therapy and physiotherapy.

The two new ambassadors will act as representatives for Haven House, using their profiles to help raise awareness of our work and reach a wider audience.

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive at Haven House, said: “We are honoured to welcome Billie and Greg as ambassadors and can’t wait to work with them on some exciting future projects.

“On their recent visit to the hospice they were genuinely interested in what we do and the families we care for, and that was so lovely to see. They seemed to instantly understand what we’re all about.”

He added: “High profile ambassadors play an enormously important role in raising awareness of how Haven House can help families with life-limited children – and also the level of community support and fundraising needed to achieve this. Their association will add huge value and strength to the message we communicate about the importance of children’s hospices and the vital support we give to local families.”
