TV presenter Mark Wright surprised guests at a fundraiser for Haven House Children’s Hospice by auctioning the shoes which he dazzled in on Strictly Come Dancing.

The 29-year-old star attended the Changing Children’s Lives - Charity Fundraiser in aid of Haven House and Indian charity Food for Life Vrindavan on Saturday night at the City Pavilion in Romford. The glitzy event was organised by Chigwell-based dental practice Smile Design by Ash.

Owner and principal dentist Dr Ash Parmar, a long-term supporter of Haven House, has raised more than £17,000 for the hospice in the past six months.

On Saturday night, he helped Mark Wright raise additional funds by auctioning the dance shoes which he wore on the 2014 series final of Strictly.

Other prizes which were snapped up included the opportunity to have a photograph with Mark and tickets for ITV’s Take Me Out and Celebrity Juice.

Mark, an ambassador of Haven House, said: “I’m incredibly grateful to Dr Ash Parmar at Smile Design by Ash for putting on the Changing Children’s Lives - Charity Fundraiser and raising such a fantastic amount for the hospice.

“It was a brilliant night and I’m delighted that I was able to increase the fundraising total by auctioning my Strictly shoes.

“They served me well on the series and I’m sure they will continue to help bust some grooves.”
