Michelle Heaton put bravery to the test by taking part in Haven House Children’s Hospice’s Firewalk on Friday 4 November.

The Liberty X pop star and TV personality walked barefoot twice on hot coals in front of a cheering crowd and her two young children as part of a fundraising challenge for the charity in Woodford Green.

Michelle was among 15 people who walked on fire for Haven House including local radio DJ Jessie Brooke from Time 107.5 in Romford.

The event was held for the first time in March with Michelle’s friend, Essex model Casey Batchelor, braving the walk for the charity.

After Friday’s firewalk, participants and supporters enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display at Woodford Rugby Club.

Michelle Heaton said: “I was delighted to help raise funds for Haven House by taking part in the firewalk. I was slightly nervous beforehand, but the training put my mind at rest and the walk wasn’t as hot as I thought!

“I enjoyed the experience so much that I did it twice. It was lovey to see so many people coming down to support the hospice. The fireworks were amazing too.”

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “We are so grateful to Michelle Heaton and all of our firewalkers who braved hot coals for us on Friday evening.

“This is the second time we have staged a firewalk and it shows there is a real appetite for raising funds for local life-limited children and families with our exciting challenge events.

“We would like to thank Woodford Rugby Club and all of our volunteers for putting on a fantastic evening which ended with spectacular fireworks.”
