A South Woodford wonder woman raised nearly £6,000 for Haven House Children’s Hospice by selling a dazzling array of cakes.

Michelle Vanlint held her 12th annual Big Tea Par-Tea for Haven House on Friday 16 at her home in Derby Road.

The event was sponsored by Posner Interiors and Schmidt Kitchens. In addition to the delicious selection of cakes on offer, guests enjoyed a Pimms tent and barbeque.

Michelle Vanlint said: "Baking gives me such joy and knowing that I’m raising funds for Haven House is the ultimate icing on the cake.

"The hospice does such important work for children and families in the local area. A Big Tea Par-Tea is really a fun way to fundraise.

"Each year the Par-Tea seems to get bigger and bigger. It’s wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves on the day.

"I want to say how amazed, humbled and grateful I am for all the help and support that I had in order to put the event on which takes months of planning."

Ginny Donnelly, Community Fundraiser at Haven House, said: "We are really grateful to Michelle for holding yet another fantastic Big Tea Par-Tea.

"Michelle has raised enough funds to pay for a day of care at our hospice which is a wonderful gift to the children and families we support.

"A Par-Tea is a brilliant way to help support our vital work. If you're not a fan of baking perhaps create some easy 'no bake' cakes or even pop to your local shop or supermarket to buy some!

"As long as there are cakes on the table, tea in the pot and friends in the room you have everything you need to host a Big Tea Par-Tea."
