The annual Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) Invitational Fishing Championship, in aid of Haven House Children’s Hospice, took place in Biggleswade on Sunday 10 July.

Sponsored by fishing tackle specialist Sonik Sports, the ever popular annual fishing competition was attended by some of the biggest names in the sporting world. 

Anglers included current WBA Lightweight Champion of the world Anthony Crolla, snooker legend Steve Davis OBE, professional darts player James Wade and darts legend Bobby George. A team of Darts Sky Walk on Girls took part too adding glamour to the event.

English athlete Dean Macey took home the coveted trophy. Dean said: “Winning was a bonus. The best part of the day was helping raise money for a great charity and spending time with such inspiring and friendly people. Roll on next year!”

The event, which was free entry to the public, is JBD Events annual charity event and raised essential funds for Haven House.

In first place was Dean Macey with a total weigh in of 27lb 4oz, in second place was English darts player Jason Lovett with 24lb 15oz, third place, with 24lb exactly, was Angler’s Mail columnist Steve Collett and PDC darts player Ritchie Howson was fourth with 23lb 8oz.
