• Nine year old Thomas decided to set himself a challenge to raise money for Haven House. He participated in his very first triathlon where he was competing with children who are part of triathlon squads and groups. He needed to swim 150m in open water, cycle 3km and complete a 1.5km run.
Despite the extreme heat he was faced with at the time, he remained determined to complete his challenge. When given a list of charities to support, Thomas asked what a hospice was. Once I explained, he picked Haven House and said - it makes him sad when children are very poorly and worse if parents can't be with them.

Thomas's mum

Thomas was not alone in his fundraising as it didn’t take long for his mum to challenged herself too. Not being a very confident swimmer, she managed to swim 1550m.

Thomas set himself a target to raise £50.00, however he ended up raising £305 within a week, making him a real Haven House Hero.

He is looking forward to doing it all over again next year!
