Six sets of twins joined forces to complete our 10km Sparkle Walk, raising an incredible £4,000 to support local children and families.

Known as the Twin-Incredibles, the group brought together 13 children and their mums from South Woodford, Chingford and Buckhurst Hill for this year's challenge. Despite the damp Saturday evening, spirits remained high as they joined around 300 walkers in taking on the route.

We were delighted to invite the Twin-Incredibles to officially start the event, cutting the ribbon before setting off alongside fellow supporters. Remarkably, all six sets of twins were born within three months of each other and have known one another since they were babies. The Sparkle Walk also marked the first time the entire group had been together in five years.

Haven House trustee and one of the mums behind the Twin-Incredibles, Amy Pearson, said: "We're all local families who met when our twins were tiny babies. We share similar values and thought it would be wonderful to take part in the Sparkle Walk together and include our children this time.

"The walk was a great way of doing something positive for our community while bringing the children back together. It was lovely to see them reconnect and support one another throughout the challenge."

Completing the full 10km route was a huge achievement for the children.

Jack Pearson said: "It felt like a real achievement. Everyone was cheering us and there was music playing, so I felt really proud."
Amy added: "People have been incredibly generous and the children are really proud of what they've achieved. As local mums, we're very conscious of how fortunate we are not to face the challenges that many Haven House families do. By raising money and awareness, we hope we're helping to make a difference and showing support for families in our community."

Justin Derbyshire, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: "The Twin-Incredibles brought so much energy, enthusiasm and joy to this year's Sparkle Walk. From cutting the ribbon at the start to crossing the finish line together, they captured the true spirit of the event. It was wonderful to see young people come together in support of their local children's hospice and achieve something so remarkable.”

The Twin-Incredibles were among around 300 walkers who took part in this year's Sparkle Walk, helping to raise vital funds for Haven House. A huge thank you to every walker, volunteer, sponsor and supporter who helped make the evening so special.
