Haven House Children’s Hospice is celebrating after being recognised as one of the best not-for-profit employers in the UK.

The prestigious awards, which are organised by The Sunday Times, identify the best companies and charities to work for based on anonymous feedback from staff.

More than 45,000 people in 161 workplaces took part in the annual survey of small, medium and large not-for-profit organisations.

Haven House was a new entrant in this year’s list reaching 27th place with a two-star “Outstanding” accreditation for leadership and staff engagement.

The results were revealed at an awards ceremony on Wednesday 21 February in Battersea Park attended by several Haven House staff.

Over 77% staff completed the survey with 92% saying they were proud to be part of the organisation - the score was the third highest among small not-for-profits.

82% of staff said they loved working for Haven House; 79% stated that senior managers lived the hospice’s values and 73% felt they listened to staff.

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “We are over the moon about this award which recognises how well we all work together as one team at Haven House. The commitment and pride everyone here takes in our work shines through and is evident in the terrific feedback we get from our families. It’s a great place to work.”

There has never been a more exciting time to join Haven House than in our 15th birthday year
