Haven House mum, Janie, held a Big Tea Party at home and raised an incredible £1,194.00 by sharing a cake and a cuppa with friends and neighbours.

Janie approached her local Belgique Cafe and they very kindly donated cakes and other goodies for the day.

Haven House supported Janie's son, Dylan, for nine years. Dylan has Partial Triplication 15, a chromosome disorder so rare that there are only ten known cases worldwide. Unfortunately this has also lead to other health conditions, such Lennox Gastaut Sydrome (A rare form of drug resistant epilepsy), autism (non verbal) and reflux disease. Dylan has become severely sighted and has progressive hearing loss in the last few years.

Janie told us,

My son needs care 24/7 and we are very lucky that there was respite for Dylan at Haven House Hospice from when he was between 9-18 years of age, giving us a break from the pressures caring. He is now 19 years old and so he no longer receives care from Haven House Hospice.

This is a plea to our community and friends to continue to support Haven House Hospice. Families like ours need a break which enables some normality where parents can spend time with other family members or go on holiday without worrying about the care of their child. The children are in very safe hands at Haven House House.

Huge thank you to Janie for holding such a successful event.
