Schools are being encouraged to show their support for Haven House Children’s Hospice by becoming Happy Helpers

The charity wants students and teachers to sign up to the campaign and collectively raise £5,374 - enough funds to help pay for a day of care at the hospice in Woodford Green.

St Patrick’s School in Walthamstow, Mayville Primary School, Buckhurst Hill Community Primary and Woodford Green Primary Schools have already become Happy Helpers and raised money for Haven House.

Figures from Together for Short Lives show on average that one child in every school in the UK will have a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. Haven House provides respite care at no cost to families.

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “Becoming a Haven House Happy Helper is a brilliant way for students and teachers to support our children and their families in the local area.

“A day of care at Haven House costs £5,374 and we’d like to encourage schools to come together to collectively raise this total.

“We have plenty of creative ideas to help schools with their fundraising, the ways you can become a Happy Helper are endless.”

Schools can sign up to our campaign by visiting the Happy Helpers page.
