The fundraising challenge encourages participants to complete 10,000 steps a day over the month of February 2024 (coinciding with Children’s Mental Health Week 2024), raising awareness and funds for the hospice’s mental health and wellbeing services. Harry Kane, an ambassador for Haven House, has personally committed to the cause, aiming to create a lasting impact on those who need it most.

Harry says:

"Haven House provides vital support for families caring for seriously ill children. I have been supporting Haven House’s incredible work for many years and have seen the positive impact the hospice has on children and families in need when they face the toughest times. It is important to recognise the resilience and determination of these children and families which is an inspiration. Haven House is there at every step to support their mental health, which makes a successful team."

The Miles for Smiles Challenge aims to raise enough money to help ensure that Haven House can continue to provide vital emotional, psychological, wellbeing and therapeutic care in a safe environment.

Harry continued:

"By completing the Miles for Smiles challenge, you can help build resilience and mental wellbeing for families when they are facing the unimaginable. I'm proud the Harry Kane Foundation is supporting this challenge, and I'm proud to captain the team. Let's get those steps done and together raise some smiles."

Haven House Chief Executive Ralph Coulbeck added:

"We are thrilled to partner with Harry Kane and the Harry Kane Foundation on this important campaign. Miles for Smiles is so much more than a challenge. It’s a community coming together, for seriously ill children and their families. The money raised will help us to achieve our ambition of providing comprehensive wellbeing and psychological support to families and children in our care."
