Enfield Police Cadets joined forces with performing arts students to bring early Christmas cheer to shoppers by singing carols and collecting for Haven House Children’s Hospice.

Thirty cadets and students from Centre Stage School of Performing Arts gathered at Palace Gardens Shopping Centre in Enfield on Thursday 8 December for an evening of festive fun.

The collection was part of Haven House’s first ever Bucket-a-thon, a month packed full of bucket collections at various North London venues and stations with an overall aim of raising £10,000 for the hospice in Woodford Green.

Lindy Hunt, Haven House North London Community Engagement Executive, said: “We are so grateful to Enfield Police Cadets and Centre Stage School of Performing Arts for taking part in our Bucket-a-thon.

“The students and the cadets did a fantastic job with their beautiful singing and handing out tasty mince pies.

“Our Bucket-a-thon is a great way for local businesses and community groups in Enfield and across North London to support local life-limited children this Christmas.”

Haven House - the only children’s hospice to serve North London from a specialist building - has increased its services to the London Borough of Enfield this year.

In July, Haven House extended its Toy Home Loan service to Enfield. During a visit to the hospice last month the Mayor of Enfield, Cllr Bernadette Lappage, praised the charity for extending the service and said she was “delighted” that Haven House was now supporting more families in the borough.
