How we are funded

We rely heavily on the generosity of our supporters and partners to fund the services we offer to our children and young people and their families.

There are an estimated 2,000* children and young people in our local area living with a life-threatening or life-limiting condition that may require palliative care services.

We believe that no family should have to face alone the difficulties of looking after a child with a life-limiting condition.

Our founder’s vision was to provide our services at no cost to the individual and this means we must secure £4.4 million each year to honour our commitment to our families. Of this only around 19% is funded by the NHS or local authorities.

Statutory income (e.g. contracts and grants) 19%
Fundraising activities 64%
Charity shops 17%

In 2016/17 alone we supported 353 children across our services delivered at The White House, the Holistic Care Centre and in the community. We also supported 54 siblings and 99 families whose children have passed away.
