Haven House Children's Hospice, ambassador Mark Wright has pledged to support the children’s hospice as part of his upcoming wedding plans.

The TV star has asked wedding guests to donate to the Woodford Green charity in lieu of gifts, to support the hospice’s vital work with local life-limited children and families. Talking about his decision, Mark said; ‘It’s somewhere I’ve visited and somewhere that’s close to mine and Michelle’s heart, so we’re getting everyone to donate to the charity.’

However, this isn’t the only way that Mark is supporting Haven House in the run-up to his wedding - on Sunday 17th May, he will also be captaining a celebrity team in a football match which will benefit the hospice. Mark will play alongside a team of well-known faces including actor Daniel Mays, TOWIE star Jake Hall and his Heart FM co-presenter Jason King (JK) at Leyton Orient F.C.

Funds raised from the match will be split between Haven House and St Joseph’s Adult Hospice in Hackney, to help support people living with life-limiting illnesses.

The boys will be playing a team of ex-Tottenham players including Chingford’s Teddy Sheringham, Bethnal Green footballer Mark Falco and Darren Anderton.

Speaking about Mark’s support for the charity, Haven House Chief Executive Mike Palfreman explained; ‘We’re delighted that Mark has chosen to support the charity as part of his upcoming wedding plans and will also be playing in our celebrity football match so close to the big day – it really shows his commitment to his role as ambassador.’

He added; ‘On behalf of everyone at Haven House, we hope that Mark and Michelle have a truly wonderful day.’
